Full Description
1971. Old City Club site behind National Westminster Bank (extension).
Much Thetford Ware from disturbed surface layer.
Well in centre of site. Brick lined two thirds down, 1.5m (5ft) diameter.
Pit A - under Bank. Photographs of section taken. Burnt clay.
Pit B - cess pit.
Pit C - salt glazed stoneware base.
Some Grimston Ware - 17th century clay pipes - piece of Delft.
Soil sample taken by A.C. from right hand side. Opposite bank.
