Various confidential record sets and/or portions of records have been omitted. It is not suitable for planning related studies/enquiries, England Woodland Creation Offer (EWCO), or academic research.

Definitive information on designated sites, including Scheduled Monuments, Listed Buildings, and Registered Parks and Gardens should be obtained from Historic England. For further information please also see our guidance page about heritage designations.
Definitive information on Conservation Areas should be obtained from the relevant district councils.
The information contained in the NHER has been compiled over many decades, by numerous individuals and from a large range of sources, many of which have not or cannot now be checked. This means that the dataset reflects changes in data collections methods, recording techniques and methods of reporting. In some instances, the NHER also holds additional paper records which have not yet been incorporated into the digital records.
The NHER is constantly being enhanced, and the absence of a record should not be relied upon as indicating a lack of heritage interest. Other national or specialist sources may contain information not held or indexed.
Information held within the NHER is subject to Intellectual Property Rights. Website users are permitted to print, copy and download extracts for their own lawful non-commercial research or educational teaching purposes. Users will need to obtain consent from authors and NHER to reproduce any of the information.
