Full Description
1973. Excavation by A. Carter for Norwich Survey on site owned by owner of Bywells shop.
Unfinished trench revealed medieval houses on western of two tenement blocks, with yard on eastern (13th-14th century) with probable 10th or 11th century timber building beneath - unexcavated.
Site to be extended when rest of block (east to St Laurence Steps) redeveloped by Cohens.
Finds held by NCM.
Further excavations 1980.
