Summary

On the site of earlier bridges dating back to the 13th century, this is a single span Portland stone bridge of 1784 by Sir John Soane, with iron balustrades.

Bridge 1784 by Sir John Soane.
Portland stone with iron balustrades. Single span with rusticated voussoirs, flanked by covered niches. Balustrades have lattice panels and pedimented sections at each end. (S1) states bridge is 13.6m (44 feet 6 inches) long, has cantilevered iron footpaths.
