Late 1987. Metal-detecting.

Bronze Age copper alloy axe blade fragment. See copy of drawing (S1).
19 Roman coins, 2 brooches, strap slide and propeller-shaped belt ornament (?military).
?Roman ?belt end, 4 unidentified copper alloy objects and copper alloy waste.

1 ?Mesolithic flint end scraper.
3 Iron Age pottery sherds (gritty).
57 Roman coins, many pottery sherds (including 3rd/4th-century greywares, 4th-century shell-gritted ware, Oxfordshire red ware, Nene Valley colour coated, Oxfordshire mortarium and 2nd-century Samian), tegulae, bricks, 3 brooches, amphora-shaped strap end, trinket ring, decorative ?belt mount, enamelled buckle (copy of a military buckle), copper alloy pin, copper alloy cauldron repair plate, box/furniture stud and 3 lead steelyard weights.
?Roman ?harness ring, ?steelyard arm, ?small patera handle, copper alloy strip and copper alloy pommel (with wood inside).
1 medieval coin and copper alloy chrismatory (originally identified as a miniature Roman vessel, but subsequently re-identifed from polaroid by A. Rogerson).
3 medieval/post-medieval pottery sherds.
1 post-medieval coin, hooked tag, buckle, silvered/tinned copper alloy spoon and copper alloy ring.
3 undatable copper alloy rings, copper alloy rod and iron slag.
Flint identified by J. J. Wymer (NAU) and other objects by T. Gregory (NAU), S. Margeson (NCM) and W. Milligan (NCM). See lists and descriptions in file. Polaroids were taken of many of the metal objects (S2), including the medieval chrismatory. The worked flint, Iron Age pottery, Roman pottery, Roman tile, medieval/post-medieval pottery and undatable iron slag were subsequently given to the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1998.388.10.1).

19 Roman coins, pottery sherds (including Samian and 4th century shell-gritted ware), 2 brooches (including enamelled hinged Colchester derivative - polaroid (S1) taken by NCM) and copper alloy bracelet.
?Roman unfinished copper alloy pin.
?Early Saxon ?tweezers fragment.
Undatable copper alloy waste.
Finds identified by T. Gregory (NAU) and S. Margeson (NCM); see lists in file. The Roman coins, one of the brooches, the bracelet and the copper alloy waste were donated to the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1999.4.6), along with 4 previously unreported Neolithic flint flakes.
