NHER 24619 (Find Spot record) - Prehistoric flint, Roman pottery, and medieval to post medieval finds

20 March 1988. Fieldwalking. Field north of NHER 12165.
Collection from two 50 by 50m squares (context 1 and 2) and from rest of field (context 3). See (S1).
Context 1:
One prehistoric flint core and flake.
One Neolithic polished flint axe. See drawing (S2).
Seven Roman greyware, including one earlyish.
Concentration of twenty three base and body sherds of Brampton greyware, of one vessel. See (S1).
Context 2:
One prehistoric flint flake.
One body sherd glazed medieval, possibly Grimston.
One rim post medieval stoneware.
Context 3: Field recently ploughed, coming into peas.
One prehistoric flint flake.
One possibly Roman oxidised.
Five Roman greyware including triangular rimmed bowl 3rd century.
All finds NCM, except axe (finder).

January-April 1997. Systematic Fieldwalking and Metal-detecting Survey.
Field survey on proposed route of Bacton to Great Yarmouth pipeline (Field/Location RDX 30.6; Context 4).
One Prehistoric retouched flint flake, a sherd of post medieval pottery, and four fragments of post medieval ceramic building material were recovered from fieldwalking. Metal detecting yielded a medieval brooch fragment, and a post medieval cloth seal.
