Late Saxon, 10th century copper alloy disc or 'button' brooch, (S1).
Decorated with backward looking quadraped and ring-and-dot. Dots look drilled? Secondary suspension hole. Catch-plate and pin lug worn or rubbed almost smooth. Decorated surface worn.
