Summary

An 18th century brick house, which used to be the Castle Inn. The building has been extensively modernised.

Now all modernised and most details hidden.
L shaped building rendered over except base of walls which show flintwork with possible 18th century brick openings.
Main north to south block three cell.
Stack between southern and central cell, and north gable internal stack now rebuilt.
Gable returns visible in side walls.
Fireplaces 18th century type.
Tiebeams across stacks, and spine beams, on ground floor have stops at ends and junctions in 17th century style.
Timberwork seems later, joists set on edge etc.
Suggests 18th century date.
Upper floor, formerly low attics, raised probably in early 19th century (dentilled cornice).
West wing has massive flint base to north and west walls.
No interior details visible.
A niche said to have formerly been visible on one wall.
Upper floor has also been raised but at later date than that of main block.
