H. M. Geake (A&E) identified:
Late medieval/early post medieval socket from a candlestick, probably a double branched type.
Made in one piece, with a short stub at the bottom which would have fitted through a hole in the separate branch of the candlestick. Above the stub is an oval loop, then the cylinderical socket with open base and groove decoration. A hybrid between figs 1 and 3 in the Finds Research Group Datasheet 1.
