Full Description
January to February 1960.
Two hearths cut into the ground.
One sealed with puddled chalk with further hearth material above it.
Excavated by Frank Curtis.
See (S1).
These cannot be identified with other pairs of hearths excavated by him in Hockwold cum Wilton because the letters (S1) make it clear that the excavation was over by mid February 1960.
Other pairs of hearths (NHER 5308/c1-2, 5332, 5317/c3) were all excavated in 1962 or later.
Photocopy of (S1) and sketches in file.
F. Healy (NAU) 5 October 1988
