Summary

In 1988 several features containing burnt black soil were noted during the construction of the Thetford bypass. One of these features yielded a china plate sherd, and another elongated pit contained dark earth and burnt flints. The date for this possible hearth feature was not known.

Several features containing burnt black soil.
Most had modernish material in exposed top fills.
One yielded a china plate sherd with NACB printed internally, perhaps 'Navy and Army Catering Board'.
