Summary

Fieldwalking here in around 1981 recovered a large number of Roman, Late Saxon, medieval and post medieval pottery sherds. In addition, an undated iron nail and post medieval clay tobacco pipe were retrieved from the same site.

Ten late medieval/transitional.
Twenty-five glazed red earthenware.

Two Staffordshire slipware.
Six post medieval recent stoneware.
One tin glazed earthenware.
Recent china tobacco pipe and flowerpot.

Context 2, B, TM 1770 9188:
Twenty-two medieval unglazed.
One late medieval/Trans.
Two glazed red earthenware.
Two post medieval or recent stoneware.
One 18th-19th century glazed.
Iron nail.

Context 3, C, 1777 9194:
One greyware probably Roman perhaps Thetford type.
Two unglazed Grimston.
Thirty-three medieval unglazed including several early medieval rims.
One medieval glazed.
