Metal detecting in 1988 recovered medieval pottery fragments and two post medieval coins. The site is reported to be where the Sutton Trot horse market took place.

December 1988. Grid reference supplied by finder.
Pottery. Five medieval unglazed.
One probably Late medieval/Transitional.
Two post medieval coins.
Identified by A. Rogerson (NAU).
D. Gurney(NAU), 6 January 1989.
Reported to be site of Sutton Trot (horse sales).
W. Milligan (NCM), 4 August 1993.
