Full Description
23 October 1988. Found during metal detecting competition designed to locate hidden 'tokens'. [1]
Medieval pilgrim ampulla.
Silver coin of Elizabeth I 1562.
Location of field from [1], who also says that the coin hoard from site NHER 22467 was really found by a digger driver excavating a lake in the centre of this field; the spoil was dumped at NHER 22467.
Information from D. Gurney (NLA).
This needs further investigation as it seems a strange place to dump soil from this field.
E. Rose (NAU), 13 February 1989.
