Full Description
December 1988. Found with metal detecting. Spixworth Field 37. [2].
Bronze strap end.
Polaroid taken by NCM.
Identified by E. B. Green (NCM), 30 December 1988.
October to November 1999. Metal detecting. In field centred at location [1]. [3].
Medieval crown type jetton in excellent condition. Obverse: crown with three ?trefoils across. Legend reads +AVE MARIA: GRACIA:P. Reverse: triple-strand cross fleury in quatrefoil with +?A V S outside the angles, no legend. Probably a royal jetton of Charles VI (1380-1422) (Mitchiner no 465).
