Summary

Fieldwalking here in 1989 retrieved fragments of Roman, medieval and post medieval pottery along with a few prehistoric flints. Pottery types identified included Roman samian and some sort of medieval buff ware.

6 and 8 March 1989. Fieldwalking. Field ploughed, rolled and drilled but crop not shot; rain formed surface crust; few large flints; soil moist. Weather cloudy but bright for eastern third, bright sunshine for remainder.
