Summary

At sometime prior to 1989 a number of medieval and post medieval pottery sherds were recovered from this location. Pieces identified included a fragment of medieval glazed Grimston Ware, a narrow strap handle belonging to a late medieval/transitional ware vessel and part of a post medieval Westerwald vessel.

Rim sherd, everted medieval unglazed, probably Early medieval.
Bodysherd of glazed Grimston, finger nail decoration, perhaps from face jug. Bodysherd of glazed Grimston with brown slip trail.
Body sherd of medieval glazed micaceous ware.
Narrow strap handle late medieval/transitional ware.
Two bodysherds glazed red earthenware.
Handle of Westerwald stoneware.
Peg tile fragment, pinkish buff in voids, probably medieval.
