Summary

Metal-detecting between 1989 and 2020 recovered a Neolithic flint projectile point; Roman, Late Saxon, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; post-medieval jettons and a range of other, undated and Late Bronze Age to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include an undated copper alloy possible ingot; a Late Bronze Age socketed axehead; a Roman finger ring and bracelet fragment; an Early Saxon brooch; a Late Saxon disc brooch; a Late Saxon to post-medieval lead spindle whorl; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval harness stud, mount, lead apothecary weight, lead pot mend and lead ampulla; medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragments and lead weight and post-medieval book clasps, a knife-handle end cap and crotal bell.

Medieval copper alloy buckle plate and gilt copper alloy annular ring brooch 13th to 14th century.

Roman pottery; grey wares, including scored decoration; bowls with grooving below rim; bowls with rounded rims; large grooved-rim jars bead and flanged bowls;very large bowl; dish with chamfered base nosey bowl with burnished lattice decoration; bowl with inturned rim necked jar.

Medieval buckle frame, oval, with 'lip' for pin rest. Compare with example in (S1).
Closed end of 2-piece medieval strap end, pointed, one rivet.
Medieval/Post medieval circular lead weight with central hole. Decorated with 6-pointed star in relief. Diameter 36mm, weight 37.6g.
16th century knife handle end-cap with pair of stylised addorsedanimal heads.
Heraldic harness stud, medieval, arms of England; red enamel ground, (S3).
Worn/battered Early Saxon cruciform brooch. Head with rows of punched dots on central panel and wings, edges missing; bow with facets and transverse grooves above and below; short length of foot with part of catch-plate on reverse. Single pin-lug with iron remains. To be photographed.

Very worn bracelet/armlet terminal, Roman. Rounded with transverse mouldings. Longitudinal band and transverse mouldings next to break. D-sectioned, and curved in profile.
Fragment of very corroded copper alloy ?ingot? of uncertain date. Parallel sided (with 10mm), thickness 4mm. Surviving end is rounded. Length 15mm. Weight 3.33g.
