Summary

Fieldwalking and metal detecting recovered fragments of possible Iron Age, Roman, Middle Saxon, medieval and post medieval pottery. Two prehistoric worked flint flakes and some prehistoric burnt flints were recorded. A Roman coin was also found.

Scatter of about fifty small abraded Roman grey sherds.

August 1989. Further finds.
More Roman greysherds including Gallo-Belgic type platter. Group looks 1st to 2nd century rather than later.
Many pot boilers.
Medieval pottery, late medieval/transitional ware and glazed red earthenware.
Seven Middle Saxon Ipswich ware of which five pimply (one base, four bodysherds), and two sandy (one base, one rim).

Scatter of about twenty Roman grey sherds, mainly micaceous. 1st to 2nd century?
Many pot boilers, two flint flakes and one Iron Age? gritty sherd.
