Summary

This late 18th century flint and brick house has later alterations and additions. A datestone inscribed 1591 was removed from the building during restoration work.

Listing Description Excerpt:
"House (shown on O.S. map as Home Farm). Dated 1782 on tie-irons to left hand gable. Galleted flint with brick dressings. Pantile roof. Irregular plan. Facade of 2 storeys, 3 bays then to left a taller 2-storey bay, this bay having 4-light casements that to the ground floor under a segmental arch."

When Rookery Farmhouse/The Grove (NHER 13453) was demolished in the 1930s or 1940s, the name 'The Grove' was transferred to this building. This building is marked on the 6 inch Ordnance Survey (S2) as Home Farm.

October 2020. Minor Amendment to Listing.
The mapped location of this record has been corrected.
When Listed in October 1960, this record was located at TG 28074 37854. This incorrectly placed it at Rookery (also known as the Grove) Farmhouse, Grove Farm, Grove Road, Gimmingham (NHER 13453). It has been moved approximately 860m to the south-east of this point and is now located at TG 28754 37328, Grove Farmhouse, Trimingham Road, Gimingham.
