Summary

In 1989 a metal detectorist found a 10th century disc brooch and a 15th century French jetton. Cropmarks have been identified at this site and they are recorded as NHER 45360.

September 1989. Find.
A Late Saxon disc brooch and a medieval jetton were recovered from this area. The brooch was identified as a Borre-style disc brooch, dated to the 10th century. Most of pin lug and catchplate are missing from the brooch (see photograph S1). The jetton was identified as French, 'Chatel Tournois', dated to the 15th century.
