Summary

In 1989 a number of bones were recovered in the River Waveney by a canoeist. These were identified as belonging to pike, cow, pig, sheep or goat skeletons. One adult human skull and the upper part of a colour-coated Roman pot were also found.

Found about two metres below land surface in River Waveney (and thus on Suffolk boundary), 62 yards (57m) west of road the bridge. Found while canoeing. Male human skull. Many animal bones in same area.

Bones identified by A. Stuart (NCM), as pike, two cow, pig, sheep/goat and two foetal bones.
Human skull is adult. Also upper part of colour-coated Roman ware pot. Skull now in the NCM.
