Summary

Metal detecting and field observation have recovered two medieval coins, a 14th century buckle, a medieval decorated hinge plate, a 13th century lead pointed oval seal matrix and pieces of medieval pot. A papal bull (seal used by the pope to secure documents) belonging to Pope Urban VI made between 1378 and 1389 was also found.

14th century bronze 'Jew's Harp' buckle.
Medieval decorated hinge plate with three-pronged outer edge; gilt bronze.
13th century lead pointed oval seal matrix with squashed loop on top of reverse; cast elaborate fleur-de-lys on reverse. Obverse: central fleur-de-lys, S'(IOHANNIS?) DE.BVSCO.

Large sherd of rim of early medieval or medieval unglazed bowl.
