Summary

Fieldwalking in 1986 and 1996 recovered worked flints, a Neolithic axe and some pot boilers. Also found were medieval and post medieval pottery fragments.

A143 Brockdish-Needham Bypass.
Field survey on proposed route of bypass (Field 4385; Context 2):
10 prehistoric flint flakes.
1 ?Neolithic flint ?axe.

A143 Brockdish-Needham Bypass.
Observation and metal-detecting of stripped surface.
No archaeologically-significant features observed and no finds recovered.
See report (S4) for further information and NHER 31423 for details of unstratified metal objects recovered from relocated topsoil being used to form banks at unspecified locations along the bypass route. This work is also noted in (S5).
