Late Saxon bronze nummuler brooch. The front has been very severly over-cleaned, but seems to have a cicular ridge around the centre, with linear ridges radiating from it, and an incomplete border of half-circles producing a scalloped effect. On the reverse there is a scar from a strip applied to act as both a pin and a catchplate. The coin on which this brooch was based cannot now be identified. 9th/10th century. (S2).
