Summary

Metal-detecting between 1989 and 2013 has recovered prehistoric flints; Roman, Early Saxon, Middle Saxon and medieval pottery; Roman tile; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins and Roman to medieval metal objects. The metal finds including a Roman brooch and a bracelet; an Early Saxon brooch and tweezers; and a medieval spur and a strap fitting. It has been suggested that the nature of the Early Saxon finds from this and two adjacent sites may indicate the presence of a cemetery of this date.
