Summary

Fieldwalking in 1989 recovered a number of Roman, medieval and post medieval pottery sherds. Metal detecting in 1990 also recovered a possible Roman steelyward weight, two Roman coins, and a Roman moulded bronze terminal with the remains of an internal iron bolt.

Behind Monks Hall.

25 December 1989. Found in fieldwalking.
Two Late medieval/Transitional ware sherds.
Four glazed Grimston, sixteen medieval unglazed.
Eighteen Roman greyware sherds.
Much glazed red earthenware and other post medieval sherds.
