Summary

Metal detecting in 1990 recovered a Roman openwork mount fragment and three Roman coins. Further work later in the year recovered another two coins, as well as a Polden Hill type brooch, a medieval ring buckle or brooch, and a medieval coin.

1990. East end of site centred on [1]. Found with metal detector.
Two Roman coins.
Polden Hill brooch of claw type, pin missing, central ridge on bow; slight lozenge mouldings either side. Grooved wings, small foot knob. 50 - 70 A.D.
Penny of Edward I-III reverse inscribed: VILLSCIEDMVN DI Bury St Edmunds mint.
14th century ring buckle or brooch, diameter 33 - 35 mm.
