Fieldwalking prior to construction of Wymondham Bypass (Field 30E):
14 undatable prehistoric flint flakes and 1 hammerstone.
1 Mesolithic flint blade. Identified by J. J. Wymer (NAU).
4 Iron Age pottery sherds (gritty).
2 ?Iron Age pottery sherds (scraps, sandy).
6 Roman pottery sherds (including greyware and Samian).
Undatable iron slag (indicating two possible areas of iron working).
Identified by A. Rogerson (NAU). See lists and location plan in file.
