Full Description
1990. Metal detecting.
9th century bronze animal head strap end fragment; three panels above terminal have fragments of silver wire spirals. Very worn. Photographed (S1).
10th century bronze disc brooch in East Anglian Borre style; single lug and broken catch plate. Traces of iron pin.

Late Saxon cast bronze hooked fitting with openwork socket containing iron traces. At open end front has cross-shaped terminal with an engraved front has cross-shaped terminal with an engraved equal armed cross.
Below on narrow part of front is an engraved lobe.

14th century large moulded bronze brooch or buckle pin with ribbed collar just below top & end shaped to lie on tongue rest. Length 50mm
Medieval? Hemispherical bronze stud with suspension loop on top and small integral shank on underside.
Medieval gilt bronze cast stud, hemispherical solid head and circular- sectioned shank.

Late Saxon stirrup strap mount, sub-rectangular, with trefoil pierced terminal at apex, and flange at base with iron rivets. Decorated with roughly cast and engraved ornament, possibly stylised foliage ?Ringerike style, debased

Cut halfpenny of Harold II, moneyer Godleaf.

Early thin bronze hinged plate brooch, tinned. Lugs, pin and catchplate missing. Edges damaged. Similar form to Hattatt 1985 number 513, but smaller holes, and central hole in large shallow recess. Corner holes have similar but smaller recesses around. ?Did these all contain missing bosses? Incised fern leaf pattern between four outer circles.

Roman bronze Hod Hill type brooch, 1st century AD. Originally with hinged pin. D-shaped sectional bow tapering from head to junction with foot. Decorated with lateral rows of closely-spaced dots.
13th century buckle frame, expanded pin-rest and worn ornament. Missing pin bar.
Medieval bronze harness pendant in form of open ring with seven projecting arms each ending in a circular lobe, decorated with engraved cross-hatching. H-shaped suspension lug with traverse pin-hole.
Medieval bronze fastener attachment plate, five rivet holes; made from folded sheet; decorated with single contour line.
Lovely medieval bronze hinged plate for fastener, triangular in form; with narrow attachment bar at broad end and decorative hole below. Apex of triangle in form of moulded animal head with transverse hole for hook on corresponding plate.
