Summary

Phoenix House is a former Methodist Sunday School, now in use as a shop. It was built in 1887 by the architect Edward Boardman, and is of painted brick with a slate roof. This two-storey building has a central pediment with a round cast-iron ventilator.

Listing Description excerpt:
"Former Methodist Sunday School, now shop. 1887 in pediment. Architect Edward Boardman. Painted brick, slate roof. Two storeys, bays defined by rusticated pilasters. Panelled doors to right and left have plain fanlights in moulded architrave with keyblocks under a dentiled hood and with decorated spandrels. Dentilled modillion cornice, above plain frieze. Central pediment has round cast-iron ventilator with date in moulded brick surround. Plain parapet."
