Listing Description excerpt:
Former use unknown, now shops with 15th- and early 16th-century undercrofts.
Shops:- Early 16th century with 18th-century rear additions. Rendered timber frame. Pantile roof. Two storey, first floor jettied. Seven irregularly spaced first floor 18th-century windows. Three 19th-century shopfronts, each with side door. Off-centre carriage entry... Three gabled dormers. Undercrofts:- Brick. Two bays ranged at right angles to the street line with heavy, double order diagonal ribs, single cross-rib between bays and shallow side chambers. A 19th-century wall now divides the two bays. Barrel-vaulted passages connect the undercroft to a later chamber at the west end of the buildings having a pointed barrel-vault profile at right-angles to the street line. The latter is one of the very few undercrofts contemporary with the building above.
The building is graded II* because of the undercrofts, two of an important group within the City walls."

This building and its undercroft are amongst those listed in thesis (S3), which considers the 13th- to 17th-century buildings of Norwich. Nos 13-17 St Giles Street is described as a two-storeyed, 16th-century building with flint rubble ground floor walls and timber-framed front and back at first floor level. A lean-to was erected against the rear wall in the 17th century and further extensions were added in the 18th and 19th centuries.
A barrel-vaulted undercroft beneath the western end of the building connects, via a short passage, to a 15th-century, two-bay undercroft that is also at right angles to the street.
