No 8 Tombland.

June 1972. Listed Grade II*.
Listing Description Excerpt:
"House now shop. 15th, 18th century or earlier. Rendered with applied timber-work to timber framed first floor and end gable. Pantiled roof. Two storeys and attic. Two first floor windows. 20th century aluminium shop front and part of front to No 9."

This building is amongst those listed in thesis (S3), which considers the 13th- to 17th-century buildings of Norwich. It is described as a late 15th-century building with timber-framed gable-end facing the street. It is noted that the building was probably constructed as a shop and originally two rooms deep, with the upper floor open to the roof. The rear extension dates to the 19th century.
