Summary

This two-storey timber-framed building was originally a pair of 17th-century houses. It has a rendered and roughcast exterior, pantile roof and a first-floor jetty that is the deepest in the city. It is listed Grade II.

Listing Description Excerpt:
"Pair of houses now offices. 17th century and later. Timber frame, rendered on ground floor; roughcast above pantile roof. Roughcast end chimney to right. Two storeys. Two first floor windows. Panelled door to right has fanlight with intersecting glazing bars. Two steps up to 20th-century door to right."

This building is amongst those listed in thesis (S2), which considers the 13th- to 17th-century buildings of Norwich. It is described as formed out of two 17th-century building, the block adjacent to No 1 drastically altered in the 20th century (when a passage was created at the rear of the building and the rear wall removed). The other building was constructed as a single-cell block with a gable-end stack that has now been removed. It is again noted that this building has the deepest jetty in the city.
