Summary

A 17th century and later house, now a shop, two storeys high with attics, painted brick on the ground floor and rendered above with a pantile roof. Beneath the building is a late 15th-century cellar with four vaulted side chambers, two of which extend beneath the lane to the rear. The ground floor of the building above may be contemporary with the cellar, although the first floor and attic date from 17th century. It is listed Grade II.

Listing Description Excerpt:
"House (?) now shop. 17th century and later. Painted brick on ground floor, rendered above. Pantile roof, red brick chimney to left. Two storeys and two-level attics; two-window range. Half-glazed door to left of centre in late 19th-century shopfront."

Exterior briefly examined as part of Norwich Survey.
Two-storey block, jettied at front and back. One room deep. Stack on south gable end. High roof with ?inserted double-storey dormer.
Late 15th-century cellar with four vaulted side chambers.

This building is amongst those listed in thesis (S3), which considers the 13th- to 17th-century buildings of Norwich. It is recorded as having a late 15th-century cellar with four vaulted side chambers, two of which extend beneath the lane at the rear of the building. The ground floor of the building may be contemporary with the cellar.
