Summary

This 17th century L-shaped building forms a right angle with Ten Bell Lane. The whole block is brick faced and was rendered in the late 18th century. The interior is mainly 18th century but some original ceiling beams survive.

Listing Description excerpt:
"Former use unknown now offices. 17th century with 18th- and 19th-century alterations and additions and 20th-century renovation. Rendered. Pantile roof. Corner site. Two storeys. Four bays. Left-hand off-centre door with panelled surround and eared inner mouldings with Keystone. Consoles support a pediment…Two gabled dormers...Hipped roof. Crow-step north gable in Ten Bell Lane. 17th-century staircase and 18th-century panelling."

This building is amongst those listed in thesis (S3), which considers the 13th- to 17th-century buildings of Norwich. It is described as a 17th-century L-shaped building with a interior layout that dates to the 18th century (when a large infill block was erected in the rear angle. Some ceiling beams and the roof survive from the 17th century, plus one light of a frieze window in original rear wall.
