January 2014. Desk-based Assessment.
Archaeological Heritage Statement produced for large proposed development site comprising all land between Rose Lane and Mountergate to east of Boulton Street and St John's Street.
This assessment concluded that remains of Late Saxon to medieval date could well survive in this area, particularly as a geotechnical investigation had demonstrated the presence of extensive made ground deposits.
See report (S1) for further information and NHER 64329 for details of archaeological investigations undertaken adjacent to junction of Rose Lane and Mountergate.
