Summary

Fieldwalking in 1990 recovered prehistoric worked flints including flakes and a scraper and undated, Middle Saxon and medieval pottery sherds, while metal-detecting between 2015 and 2019 recovered Neolithic/Bronze Age worked flints, including a scraper, borer and simple flake tools; a Roman coin, and Roman and Late Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Roman brooch; a Late Saxon/medieval lead spindle whorl; a medieval buckle, strap fitting, rotary key and horse-harness pendant; a medieval/post-medieval lead weight; and a post-medieval crotal bell.
