Summary

Cropmarks of half of an undated square enclosure and rectilinear features can be seen on an aerial photograph. Fieldwalking in 1991 recovered pieces of Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post medieval pot. This has been interpreted as part of an early Roman settlement site. Metal-detecting in 2024 recovered a Roman coin and a Roman silver ring key.

Full Description

28 June 1990. NAU air photography.
Half of a square enclosure at TG 1390 3280 (appears to project under 28033 but not visible there) and rectilinear cropmarks over field.

Iron Age, Roman, medieval, post medieval sherds.

(S2) describes this site as part of a comparitively early Roman settlement site where tile and samian were recovered.
