Summary

Fieldwalking and metal-detecting at this location between 1989 and 2010 recovered Mesolithic/Neolithic and undiagnostic worked flints; Roman, medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; medieval and post-medieval tokens; post-medieval jettons and a range of other, Iron Age to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include an Iron Age toggle; a Late Iron Age/Roman terret; Roman brooches, a prick spur, model or votive axe, copper alloy hair pin and copper alloy furniture nail or stud; a Roman/Early Saxon military belt stiffener; Early Saxon brooches; a potentially Early Saxon copper alloy possible suspension ring; a potentially Late Saxon possible harness fitting; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories (including a post-medieval silver button); medieval thimbles, thimbles or sewing rings, a book clasp, end cap from scale-tang knife, lead seal matrix, lead spindle whorl and lead spindle whorl or weight; medieval/post-medieval shoulder bolster from whittle-tang knife, copper alloy cooking vessel fragments, copper alloy ring and unidentified copper alloy object and post-medieval harness mounts, coin weights, a belt or harness mount, livery badge, book clasp, thimble or sewing ring, copper alloy unidentified object fragment and copper alloy and lead weights.

2 medieval/post-medieval pottery sherds, a buckle, copper alloy vessel leg, copper alloy 'paper-clip' probable vessel repair rivet and 3 lead weights.
5 post-medieval coins, 5 jettons, 2 pottery sherds, 3 buttons (1 silver) 4 buckles, a harness mount and tailors' thimble or sewing ring.
