Map

4 September 1989. NAU aerial photography.
A cropmark of a ring ditch was identified.
See ((S1)-(S2)).
D. Edwards (NAU), 28 November 1990.

12 July 1994. NLA aerial photography.
The cropmarks are also visible in these photographs.
See (S4).
H. Clare (NLA), 22 February 2001.

29 June 1995. NLA aerial photography.
The cropmark of the ring ditch is visible on (S5).
In addition to this, two conjoining linear cropmarks can be seen, forming what appears to be additional linears running parallel to the outer ones (most clear is towards the south side of the enclosure) and generating the appearance of a double ditched enclosure (although these ditches are quite wide apart). The enclosure is located in the northwest corner of the current field (at TF 9944 1680) and there seems to be a gap in its southern side towards the western end.
It seems likely that only two sides of the enclosure are visible because of the current field layout. Although it is likely that this is some sort of enclosure, it is possible that the linear cropmarks are simply old field boundaries. Further (very faint) cropmark features are visible inside the enclosure, and a short linear cropmark can be seen a short distance south of the enclosure.
H. Clare (NLA), 3 August 2001.

25 June 1996. NLA aerial photography.
The cropmarks previously recorded are visible on (S4) and a third side to the enclosure is now visible as well as further cropmarks of linear features. The origin of the linear features and enclosures on this site is unknown. It is quite possible that they are simply old field boundaries, however they do not seem to correlate entirely with the boundaries shown on the 2nd edition Ordnance Survey map (S8).
H. Clare (NLA), 4 September 2001.

November 2007. Norfolk NMP.
A cropmark of a ring ditch of probable Bronze Age date is visible on aerial photographs ((S1)-(S7)). The ring ditch is slightly sub-circular in plan with a 3m wide ditch and an external diameter of 26m. It is likely that the ring ditch is of Bronze Age date and that it relates to a round barrow. A 4m long pit cropmark is visible within the centre of the ring ditch and it is possible that it represents a grave. The linear ditch and enclosure cropmarks previously recorded under this NHER number are now recorded separately as NHER 50696.
J. Albone (NMP), 16 November 2007.
