Summary

Metal detecting and fieldwalking recovered several Mesolithic or Neolithic worked flints including a blade, a burin spall and a core. A Neolithic flint axehead, a Roman copper alloy knob from a box or a piece of furniture and a fragment of Roman Samian pottery were also found.

25 October 1989. Metal-detecting and fieldwalking.
Found south of Old Hall Farm and south south-west of spring:
1 Mesolithic/Neolithic flint blade, 1 spall, 1 'micro-core' and 2 flakes.
1 Neolithic small flint flaked axe.
1 Roman pottery sherd (battered Samian base) and 1 copper alloy knob from box or furniture. See (S1).
