Summary

A Roman bucket foot and medieval cast lead seal with the coat of arms of England on it were found here by metal-detecting in 1991. Further metal-detecting in 2010 recovered a post-medieval token, hinge plate and book clasp.

June 1991 (or thereabouts). Metal-detecting.
Roman bucket foot (originally suggested as Saxon sword or harness). Cast copper alloy, with rectangular top and bottom, incurving. Central part pierced twice. Top surface decorated with four strand interlace with nine ring and dots between interlace. Underside of top is ridged and the pierced part is 'waisted' so that top and bottom jut out beyond it; top slightly longer than bottom.

Cast medieval lead seal with arms of England, and pierced loop 'S' on square field repeated eight times with plain zone between.
