Summary

Fieldwalking here in 1991 recovered prehistoric worked flints and Iron Age, Roman, Late Saxon and medieval pottery sherds. Subsequent metal-detecting between 2004 and 2021 recovered Roman, Late Saxon and post-medieval pottery sherds; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins and a number of other undated and Middle/Late Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include undatable lead weights and lead casting waste; an Early Saxon brooch fragment; a Middle/Late Saxon strap end; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval furniture mount; a medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel leg and lead pot mend; post-medieval book clasps, a purse bar fragment, harness mount, cast iron rings, white metal bell fragments, lead weights and a lead cloth seal and a post-medieval/modern furniture handle.

1 Roman coin.
1 Middle/Late Saxon strap end (Thomas Class A Type 1, 9th century).
4 medieval coins and 1 composite three-part strap end.
1 medieval/post-medieval lead pot mend and 1 vessel leg.
1 post-medieval coin, 2 white metal bell mouth fragments, 1 belt/harness fitting, 1 belt mount, 1 book clasp, 2 buttons, 1 lead cloth seal, 2 lead weights (inc a 24-pennyweight Troy), 1 purse bar fragment and 1 silver clothing eye mount.
6 undatable lead weights (4 tubular, 2 plano-convex) and 1 lump of lead casting waste.

The silver clothing eye mount was disclaimed as Treasure (Ref: 2005 T448), and returned to finder.
