Summary

Fieldwalking and metal detecting have recovered large amounts of Roman pottery and building material, as well as Roman coins and other metal objects, suggesting that this may be the site of a Roman building. The building lies close to the site of a Roman town (NHER 5653). Early or Middle Saxon, medieval and post medieval metel objects have also been found on the site.
