Summary

Fieldwalking and metal detecting in this area between 1991 and 2008 recovered various objects. Finds included a prehistoric flint borer, Roman coins and a brooch, Early Saxon brooches, a medieval seal matrix and an undated lava quern fragment. In addition, sherds of Iron Age, Roman, Middle Saxon, Late Saxon, medieval and post medieval pottery have been retrieved.

Borer: small pointed tertiary flake with retouch on left distal edge to enhance pointed distal tip. Additional minor retouch on right, proximal end broken.
