1990. Found in Purfleet, near Customs House.
Medieval Bawsey glazed tile decorated with 6-leaved flower (green/yellow/ gold glaze). Tile dated 1320-1330. See (S1).
Bone semi-profile figure of female saint with halo and long robes; right hand raised in Benediction. Left hand stretched out. Rivet hole in top of head (edge of halo). Halo has engraved lines like rays. Head-dress (or hair) has incised transverse lines. Compare with stance and style of figure of Christ with hand raised in blessing on a tile from Tring, in a scene of the wedding feast at Cana (S2).
