Summary

In around 1986 a Neolithic flaked flint axehead was found in a potato harvester at this location. Subsequent fieldwalking and metal-detecting between 2001 and 2007 recovered prehistoric worked flints; Roman, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; a fragment of post-medieval ceramic building material; undatable metal-working debris; Roman and post-medieval coins and a number of other metal objects. These metal finds include a medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragment and strap fitting; a post-medieval buckle, lead cloth seal and various undatable copper alloy and lead objects.

Finds recovered included:
49 prehistoric worked flints.
4 medieval pottery sherds.
1 post-medieval coin, 1 coin/token, 1 ceramic building material fragment and 1 buckle.
1 ?post-medieval coin fragment.
5 undatable metal-working debris fragments, 1 copper alloy strip/rod, 1 copper alloy cast vessel foot, 2 copper alloy cast fragments, 1 copper alloy decorated sheet, 1 lead ?weight, 2 lead strips and 1 piece of lead spillage.
