Summary

Fieldwalking and metal detecting in this area during 1991-99 recovered a variety of objects. Finds of note included a possible Roman spindle whorl, the base of a Roman mortarium, a medieval strap union, an early post medieval knife guard and stud.

Rim of mortarium. Big grits, for example ironstone. Nene Valley (probably). Orange fabric.
