Full Description
Chalybeate spring (spa).
Stated by member of the public [1] to have been founded as spa in 1742. Stone basin and tank re-exposed in 1991. Informant also states adjacent cottages are 17th century, but they are not listed buildings and this needs confirmation.
Informant has photographs
E. Rose (NLA) 27 November 1991
In fact the spa dates to before 1699, see (S1). Photograph in (S2).
